The Newburgh Enlarged City School District has an anticipated vacancy for an HVAC Supervisor for the District.*HVAC Supervisor position is Provisional and Contingent upon results of the Civil Service Exam when issued.DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:This is supervisor, management, field maintenance and corrective work involving the responsibility for the maintenance and physical operation of a large number of HVAC systems throughout the school district. The work is performed under the general direction of the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds; however, this position assumes full responsibility for maintenance and operation of all HVAC systems. The Maintenance Supervisor shall have the responsibility to train assigned custodial staff to perform simple maintenance and corrective procedures on the various UVAC systems for each building. Additionally, this position requires the development of a system of records for maintenance and corrective work to be kept at each school building with duplicate records at the office of maintenance supervisor and Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Three years of experience supervising HVAC maintenance activities; orFive years experience maintaining heating, ventilating, air conditioning and temperature control systems as a primary responsibility; orAn equivalent combination of training and experience. NOTE:Vocational or technical training or completion of a formal apprenticeship in HVAC trade skills may be substituted for maintenance experience ona year-for-year basis. Six elementary schools (including a Pre-K center in one building), one K-8 school, one middle school, and the high school are in the City of Newburgh.
