Each s uccessful candidate will demonstrate strong instructional leadership, deep knowledge of special education regulations, and the ability to foster positive, productive relationships with students, families, faculty, and community partners. The ideal candidates will demonstrate: A collaborative and student-centered decision-making style. Strong knowledge of special education law, inclusive instructional practices, and program evaluation. Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to build trusting, productive relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners. A commitment to equity, continuous improvement, and innovative program development. A commitment to developing a strong, innovative and engaging instructional learning environment for all learners. NYS (SAS, SDA, SBL, SDL) Certification Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Serve as district CPSE or CSE Chairperson, ensuring compliant, timely, and student-centered meetings. Conducting observations of instructional staff Plan and facilitate district-wide or building-based professional development. Collaborate with families and stakeholders to ensure high-quality program planning and placement decisions. Collaborate with Coordinators to develop and maintain long-range goals and plans for the special education department Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for PPS & Special Education or Superintendent
