The Nanuet School District is seeking a (1.0) School Psychologist to fill a leave replacement position for our middle school students. This role involves conducting psychological evaluations, leading Committee on Special Education (CSE) subcommittee meetings, and collaborating closely with teachers, administrators, and families to support students with disabilities.Key Responsibilities:Evaluation and Assessment:Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations through a variety of psychometric tests and behavioral observations to assess students' cognitive, emotional, and adaptive functioning.Interpret evaluation results and prepare detailed written reports, presenting findings and recommendations to families.Meeting Facilitation:Chair CSE subcommittee meetings for middle school students, ensuring effective and collaborative discussions.Collaboration and Consultation:Work in partnership with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement strategies that support students with disabilities.Consult with other professionals, such as pediatricians and therapists, to develop well-rounded treatment plans and ensure comprehensive student support.Therapeutic Interventions:Provide individual and group therapy sessionsParent and Family Support:Offer counseling and guidance to parents and families on issues related to their child's disability, including practical strategies for effective management.Qualifications:Expertise in the needs and services for students with disabilities, including the administration of psychological, educational, and behavioral assessments.Strong knowledge of federal and NYSED regulations.Special Requirements:Valid New York State School Psychologist Certification.Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
