Applications will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.DESCRIPTION:The Board of Cooperative Educational Services of Nassau County (Nassau BOCES) is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for Business Services. This position reports directly to the Deputy Superintendent/Chief Operating Officer of Nassau BOCES.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Serving as the Chief Financial Officer for accounting, payroll, risk management, budgeting, purchasing, transportation and food services.Ensuring that all fiduciary duties and support services are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and Cooperative Service (CoSer) guidelines.Assisting the District Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent in liaison activities with all local school district Superintendents and other school officials concerning Nassau BOCES financial services.Maintaining indicators of progress toward achieving the mission and strategic initiatives of Nassau BOCES.Performing other related duties.REQUIREMENTS:New York State Education Department Certification: School Business Administrator (SBA) or School District Business Leader (SDBL).Five or more years of experience as the chief business administrator of a medium to large size school district/BOCES.Strong familiarity and/or experience with BOCES business administrative practices preferred.Extensive knowledge of school finance and operations, NYSED regulations, CoSer criteria guidelines and instructional practices.Knowledge of Nassau BOCES and NYSED policies, procedures and mandates.SALARY: $250,750.00 plus doctoral stipend of $3,575.00, if applicable.
