The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs (RSIP) is seeking a full-time Auto Collision teacher to support the Auto Collision program in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) setting for high school students. Topics covered include auto shop safety, vehicle construction, the use of hand and power tools, measurement, hardware, materials, welding, cutting, heating, metals, plastic, fiberglass, painting, color matching, trimming, framing, cost estimation and entrepreneurship. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Preparing course outlines, detailed lesson plans, and extensive hands-on instruction Staying up to date with industry innovations and evolving job requirements, ensuring the curriculum reflects current market demands and equips students with skills valued by prospective employers Utilizing technology to enhance instruction and student engagement to enhance the educational settings REQUIREMENTS: New York State Education Department Certification: Vehicle Body Repair and Painting (7-12) A minimum of two years of verified experience working as a tradesperson or two years of verified experience in the auto collision area of CTE and developing relationships with trade experts or employers Experience working with secondary student populations is preferred Experience using technology in the classroom is preferred
