The Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs is seeking a Part-time Hourly (0.2 FTE equivalent) Physical Education Teacher to provide instruction to students enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at GC Tech.The candidate must be able to teach both first and second year-level students. Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to: Providing structured pull-out physical education (PE) classes for high school students enrolled in CTE programsDesigning and implementing age-appropriate PE activities that promote physical fitness, movement skills, and team buildingModifying physical activities to accommodate students with varying needs and abilitiesMonitoring student participation, progress, and behavior during activitiesCollaborating with CTE instructors and support staff to coordinate schedules and maximize student engagementAdapting/writing PE curriculum to fit the needs of CTE studentsMaintaining accurate attendance records and grading, and conducting parent outreachIntegrating wellness, mindfulness, and mental health practices into PE sessions Promoting lifelong fitness habits and a positive attitude toward physical activitySupporting a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all studentsREQUIREMENTS: New York State Education Department Certification: Physical EducationAbility to adapt and write curriculum and instruction to meet the individualized needs of students Knowledge and experience using the Next Generation Learning Standards for Physical EducationBackground in health, wellness, mental health and/or special education preferred
