The Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology is seeking a School Psychologist to provide services to students in various BOCES programs or non-public schools throughout Nassau County. The successful candidate will work closely with the administration of the assigned schools(s). Students benefiting from this service may include those with social, emotional, behavioral and/or learning challenges. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Conducting psychological re-evaluations. Developing and monitoring Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Delivering individual and group counseling, including as per student Individualized Education Program (IEP) mandates. Supporting students’ social, emotional and behavioral needs. Maintaining accurate records, counseling logs and Medicaid related documents. REQUIREMENTS: New York State Education Department Certification – School Psychologist. Experience chairing Committee on Special Education (CSE) and 504 Plan meetings, mandated counseling and risk assessments. Knowledge of FBAs and BIPs. Excellent written, verbal and communication skills. Two or more years of related experience required. Ability to travel throughout Nassau County is preferred.
