*** IN ADDITION YO SPPLYING ON OLAS, ALL APPLICANTS MUST VISIT THE NASSAU BOCES Employment Opportunities PAGE TO COMPLETE THEIR APPLICATION ***The Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology at Nassau BOCES is seeking a Program Coordinator to provide support for Guidance and Technology Support Services and School Counselor Support Services. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Organize and moderate professional development for guidance counselors and directors. Provide advanced Naviance helpdesk support. Create, develop and maintain contractual relationships with companies that provide guidance technology products. Oversee itinerant support staff services for both elementary and secondary school counselors, psychologists and social workers. Organize virtual mental and behavioral health bilingual training services. Maintain professional organization memberships, review information and share with districts. Research and contract with a wide array of engaging and relevant organizations and individuals who provide high quality professional development as well as maintain a database of subject matter experts in guidance, college and career related topics. Shar Nassau BOCES work and services with professional organizations such as, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), New York State Education Department (NYSED), New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) and Parent Teacher Associations (PTA). Create annual plans to deliver specific training and initiatives to component districts to create systemic change. REQUIREMENTS: New York State Education Department Certification: School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA). New York State Education Department Certification: School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) is preferred. New York State Education Department Certification: Professional/Permanent School Guidance or School Counselor. Five or more years’ counselor experience. Three or more years’ administrative experience Excellent managerial, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to create and deliver high quality professional development.
