Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Coordinate data dissemination with districts, the Nassau Regional Information Center and New York State Education Department (NYSED). Work closely with vendors, technicians, building and department leaders together with New York State agencies for accurate data reporting. Assist districts in the coordination and verification of New York State reporting and accountability information. Establish data collection processes and procedures related to current NYSED reporting requirements and deadlines. Provide staff development to building leaders. Provide on-site training, email and phone support to district and building employees including administrators, teachers and clerical staff on the use of New York State data entry and verification systems. Provide 1:1 or group professional development to district staff and assist districts with New York State reporting rules, regulations and data verification. Research issues related to student data, analysis of data extracts and other duties related to student information systems. Requirements: NYSED Certification – School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) is required. Experience and knowledge of the New York State reporting requirements for school districts. Excellent written, verbal and communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel to include pivot tables and data manipulation is desirable. Familiarity with Student Information Systems is desired. Knowledge of Cognos and report creation and data use systems such as Level 0, M2L1C, NYSSIS and L2RPT. If the candidate is a certified guidance counselor, a New York State Administrative Certification (SDA/SDL) is required, or the candidate must be enrolled in a leadership program which could result in a New York State Administrative Certification (SDA/SDL) and qualify for an Internship Certificate.
