The Nassau BOCES Department of Special Education is seeking a Substitute - Certified/Regularized Substitute Speech and Language TeacherResponsibilities include but not limited to the following: Conduct speech and language re-evaluations for special education studentsDeliver individual and group speech services, as per student IEP mandatesMaintain accurate records, speech session notes and Medicaid related documentsCollaborate with teachers, parents and districtsRequirements: NYS Certification – Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped/Teacher of Speech Language DisabilitiesPreferred – NYS Speech-Language Pathology License and Certificate of Clinical Competence – American Speech-Language-Hearing AssociationExperience working with children and adolescents with Autism and/or emotional and behavioral disorders highly desirableStrong written and verbal communication skills
