Job Description:• Operate a school bus safely on a regular schedule• Responsible for fueling and cleaning the inside and outside of the bus• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions as well as read and follow maps and GPS• Ability to write legibly and be able to maintain route direction sheets and all other required documents• Must be dependable• Teacher Aides assist teachers with duties associated with the teaching process. They also assist with implementation of classroom routines and student management while establishing good relationships with students and coworkers.• Ability to travel to other schoolsQualifications:• A high school diploma is required. Preference will be given to those who have experience working with students.• Possess and maintain a valid New York State Driver’s License with no convictions for moving violations during the past year and appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated• Must possess a CDL Class C License• License must include “PS” (Passenger and School Bus) endorsements and driver must supply Basic Course Certificate.• Driver must be at least 21 years of age.• Candidates must satisfy all requirements of Article 19-A of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law in addition to the requirements for School Bus Driver set forth in the Rules and Regulations of the New York State Commissioner of Education and Nassau BOCESSalary:Teacher Aide: $22,965-$27,993.90Possible Additional Assignment: Bus Driver- $18/hr for morning and afternoon bus runs
