The Nassau BOCES Department of Curriculum, Instruction & Technology is seeking a school counselor to serve in elementary school settings for component districts. The successful candidate will collaborate with students, teachers, administrators, parents, and Nassau County school guidance counselors to enhance the academic, personal, social, and career development of students in their respective grade levels (K-6). This individual will assist building administrative teams in the development and implementation of the Comprehensive School Counseling Plan set forth by NYSED. The counselor may also act as a representative on the district/school counseling/guidance program advisory council.Requirements: - NYSED Certification: School Counselor is required- Outstanding written, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills as well as experience with Microsoft Office applications and virtual platforms, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams is required- Experience with implementing data-driven action plans that align with school and counseling program goals in an elementary setting is highly preferred
