REQUIREMENTS: Must have the following:· Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university· Two years of satisfactory experience evaluating and providing orientation and mobility training to visually impaired or blind individuals· Knowledge of: o methods and procedures for assessing visually impaired or blind individuals 'level of functioning o training and developing sensory, conceptual motor and formal orientation and mobility skills for visually impaired or blind individuals o sensory aides and devicesDESCRIPTION: Orientation & Mobility Trainer to train visually impaired or blind children K through 21 in the process of utilizing sensory information to enable them to move safely and efficiently within their environment.· Assess each student’s’ orientation and mobility skills to determine current level of functioning and the need for orientation and mobility services· Develop student’s sensory, conceptual, motor and formal orientation and mobility skills· Evaluate student’s progress and submit written evaluation reports· Identify and recommend specific sensory aides/devices· Maintain daily log· Write IEP goals and attend CSE meetings· Establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, district personnel, students and parents· Express oneself effectively, both orally and in writing· Performs related duties as requiredSALARY: As per CSEA agreementApply on OLASEOE
