25-26(33)QUALIFICATION:Valid NYS license as a Certified Athletic Trainer (per Article 162, NYS Education Law)DISCRIPTION: Monticello Central School District is seeking an Athletic Trainer. Incumbents must have current and appropriate NYS license as a Certified Athletic Trainer (per Article 162, NYS Education Law)TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:In addition to dispatch-related duties, responsibilities include:Administering first aid, CPR, and coordinating emergency transport.Evaluating injuries and determining appropriate care.Developing injury prevention programs and assessing athlete fitness.Educating athletes, parents, coaches, and staff on injury care and prevention.Managing inventory and maintenance of athletic training supplies and equipment.Maintaining athlete records and preparing reports.Advising coaches on athlete readiness for return to play.Providing joint and muscle support through taping and wrapping techniques.Coordinating with school medical staff on injuries and concussion protocols.Tracking and inspecting athletic equipment.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Strong knowledge of sports medicine, first aid, and CPR.Understanding of athletic training regulations and equipment use.Basic anatomy and medical terminology knowledge.Ability to assess, motivate, and support injured athletes.Strong communication, record-keeping, and computer skills.Ability to supervise and work effectively with others.Dependability, accuracy, and good judgment.The Monticello Central School District is in Sullivan County, NY, centrally located between New York City, Albany, and the Pocono Mountain region.
