The candidate will be able todemonstrate:Experience in providing instructional leadership at the district level in order to develop,implement, and supervise high quality systems & structures for Pupil Personnel Services;Comprehensive knowledge of Federal IDEA & Section 504, and NYS Part 200 Regulations;Knowledge of research-based practice for instructional design, delivery, and assessmentto support students with disabilities and those students at risk;RESPONSIBIITIES1. CPSE/CSE Chairperson for Pre-K through Grade 12.2. Directing and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEP)3. Coordinating compliance with all Federal, State and local laws and regulations governingthe education ofstudents with disabilities;4. Monitoring of out-of-district placements and related services;5. Supervising departmental administrative staff,6. Conducting performance observations of department personnel;7. Evaluating annually the performance of program personnel, including speechpathologists, school psychologists,school social workers, registered nurses, teaching assistants and developing plans forimprovement8. Communication and collaborating with Principals and other administrators regardingassignments for departmentpersonnel and programs for students;Page 2 of 29. Assist in the screening and interviewing of applicants for pupil personnel positionvacancies and makesrecommendations for hiring.10. Assist the Director of Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) with arrangement of medical servicesto be provided by theschool physician and leads nurses in developing and maintaining effective health programs.This includesimplementing mandates for pupil screening and immunizations.11. Assist with preparing and monitoring the annual budge for the Pupil Personnel Servicesdepartment.12. Assist with administering the Home Instruction Program.13. Assist with coordinating and developing District policies, regulations and procedures asthey relate to pupilpersonnel services.The Monticello Central School District is in Sullivan County, NY, centrally located between NewYork City, Albany, and the Pocono Mountain region.
