Job DescriptionThe Massapequa Schools are seeking candidates for per-diem Audio-Visual Aides.These positions are event-driven, and involve the following:1. Set up and install equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for events and functions such as but not limited to concerts, musicals, meetings and presentations.2. Set up and operate sound equipment.3. Confer with meeting or concert director to establish cues and directions.4. Monitor sound feeds to ensure quality.5. Ensure equipment is installed according to designated layout.6. Test and resolve equipment issues.7. Diagnose and correct media system problems.8. Mix sound inputs and feeds.9. Troubleshoot equipment and conduct basic repairs10. Clean audio and video equipment and store properly11. Ensure the safe transfer and shipment of equipment.12. Perform duties on location.13. Maintain inventory of equipment.14. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designeeJob QualificationsExperience in the operation and maintenance of audio and lighting equipment Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to think analytically and work independently. Ability to work cooperatively with a team.
