MOUNT PLEASANT CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT825 Westlake Drive, Thornwood, New York 10594DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY & DATA - 12 MONTH POSITION AVAILABLE JULY 1, 2025GENERAL DUTIESResponsible for the implementation of instructional software programs, including student management systems. Must have basic knowledge of hardware and network infrastructure, being able to have oversight and being able to troubleshoot issues with the BOCES Managed IT Team. Must possess knowledge of NYS data reporting requirements and the responsibilities of the CIO. Must also be knowledgeable of the state data repository, HR and SMS systems for purposes of data extract and other relevant data reporting systems. QUALIFICATIONS Masters Degree New York State Administrative Certificate (one of the following): School District Administrator (SDA) OR School District Leader (SDL) RESPONSIBILITIESGeneral: Represents the district in meetings with educational business groups dealing with informational technology. Represents the district in meetings involving BOCES informational technology services and Managed IT services. Works under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools with the Director of Business Administration to write and maintain the district IT budget. Oversees the enrollment and registration of all students. Technical/Computer Services: Assumes the role of System Administrator, coordinating hardware, software, implementation and maintenance. Oversees day to day operations of the district's network. Coordinates the district web presence and other related technical and web-based services. Coordinates the purchasing of all hardware and software for the district. Coordinates the review and evaluation of software for administrative and clerical purposes; communicates information from such evaluation to appropriate staff members. Classroom Integration: Plans, develops and coordinates the computer education program as well as administrative/clerical applications for the district. Provides advice and assistance about the use of computer hardware and software for instruction. Act as the district technology curriculum leader. Data Management: Responsible for accurate reporting of all data required by NYSED. Acts as district CIO reporting directly to the Superintendent of Schools. Oversees student management system (eSchoolData) operations, and all other data systems in the district. Responsible for district data integration between systems. Testing Coordinator: District testing coordinator for grades 3 - 8 NYS ELA, Math and Science testing, NYSESLAT, NYSITELL, and Regents. Registration: Oversees district registration and provides guidance to the registrar, when needed. Data Privacy & Security: Responsible for EdLaw 2d Part-121 regulations and compliance. Responsible for maintaining the district parent bill of rights and approved system (free and paid) inventory. Will act as district DPO and responsible for annual mandatory data privacy and security training. Other responsibilities may be added at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools.
