Vacancy Available July 1, 2024The Mount Pleasant Central School District in Thornwood, New York is seeking a dynamic individual with extensive knowledge and experience in the area of physical education, health and athletics to join our leadership team. The successful candidate will:Supervise the health and physical education staff and plan with the administrative team to provide ongoing professional development for health, physical education and wellness education across the curriculum.Possess the ability to form a collaborative programmatic vision on a state of the art athletic complex.Embody the attributes of the Mount Pleasant Portrait of a Learner.Embrace the principles of continuous improvement to lift an already strong athletics and physical education program.Oversee the education of all students in the area of physical education, health and wellness.Administer the Interscholastic Athletics Program, including overseeing all coaches, seasonal Sports Coordinator and Athletic Training staff.Thorough knowledge of NYS Physical Education and Health Learning Standards.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with athletes, coaches, school personnel, parents and the community.HS coaching and physical education and/or health teaching experience required. Previous experience as an Athletic Director preferred. NYS Certification as School District Administrator and Physical Education and/or Health teacher required. Competitive salary and benefits.
