The Mount Pleasant Central School District in Thornwood, New York is seeking a Family & Consumer Sciences Teacher in Westlake Middle School for the 2026/2027 school year. Our Family and Consumer Sciences Curriculum focuses on critical thinking in a Performance Based Classroom. Our FACS classroom is equipped with kitchen stations. Units of study include food safety, food preparation skills, food science, nutrition, product design, cultural food exploration, and business and entrepreneurial concepts. Students learn to problem solve, manage time, and work collaboratively to assign and fulfill roles and responsibilities.
