Position SummaryMontauk School is seeking a compassionate and dependable 1:1 Shared Aide to support one or more students with special needs. The aide will work under the supervision of the classroom teacher and special education staff to provide instructional, behavioral, and/or physical support to help students access the school day safely and successfully.Responsibilities:Provide direct support to assigned student(s) throughout the school day, including academic, behavioral, social, and/or physical assistanceSupport student participation in classroom activities, transitions, specials, lunch, and recessImplement strategies and accommodations outlined in the student’s IEP, Behavior Intervention Plan, or safety plan, as directedAssist with organization, attention, and task completionSupport positive behavior using established school-based strategiesCommunicate appropriately with teachers and staff regarding student progress and needsMaintain confidentiality and adhere to all district policies and proceduresQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredExperience working with elementary-aged children preferredExperience supporting students with special needs is strongly preferredAbility to follow directions, remain flexible, and work collaboratively as part of a teamPatience, reliability, and strong interpersonal skillsAbility to meet the physical demands of the position (e.g., standing, walking, assisting students as needed)CompensationCompensation based on district contract and experienceApplication Procedure: Interested candidates should submit the following through OLAS:Letter of interestResumeThree current professional references
