REQUIREMENTS: Must have NYS Teaching Assistant Certification Must meet NYSED Fingerprinting requirements Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: The Monroe-Woodbury Central School District is seeking a highly capable teaching assistant to support instruction in a 15:1 self-contained elementary classroom. This role requires more than general support—successful candidates actively contribute to instruction, reinforce specially designed instruction, and implement teacher-directed academic and behavioral interventions with consistency. Ability to follow instructional plans, support students with diverse academic and behavioral needs, and maintain a structured, predictable classroom environment. Ability to implement behavior supports, prompt effectively, and gradually fade support to promote student independence is essential. Candidates must be attentive, responsive, and able to adjust in real time while maintaining high expectations for all students. We are seeking individuals who are reliable, proactive, and committed to supporting student growth as part of a collaborative team. This is a hands-on, demanding role that requires patience, consistency, and strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of various assessment tools (running records, etc) Experience in implementing instructional resources and activities provided by a classroom teacher in order to meet students’ needs and encourage student growth and progress across content areas Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds who have diverse developmental and academic skills and needs Desire to grow as a part of a professional community in order to support instructional practice, student learning, and students’ overall growth and achievement Possess exemplary interpersonal skills and tools for collaboration with all school faculty, staff, administrators, and families in service to students Other responsibilities, as assigned, based on the needs of the school and its student EFFECTIVE : September 02, 2026
