REQUIREMENTS:BOC/NATA Certification requiredNYS License Athletic TrainerCurrent First Aid/ AED/ CPR Certification-Professional RescuerBachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training or other health related fieldsMaster’s Degree in Athletic Training preferredTwo years experience in a school setting preferredMust meet NYSED Fingerprint requirementsJOB DESCRIPTION:Must be flexible, and be able to work weekendsResponsible for game coverage, and athletic training roomResponsible for instructing coaches, athletes, and parents in the area of care and prevention of athletic injuriesAble to provide first aid, CPR, and coordinate emergency transportation as necessaryAble to conduct initial evaluations following an injury and makes decisions regarding management of the injuryMaintains an inventory and determines the need for athletic training supplies, equipment and maintenance servicesEstablishes and maintains detailed records on student athletes including incident report forms and prepares reports as requiredResponsible to inform coaches as to whether an injured athlete may resume participation in athletic activitiesAssists in the administration, organization, and planning of schedules to provide coverage at athletic eventsFollows specific guidelines for the care prevention of athletic injuries including treatment and rehabilitationEnforces policies and procedures of the School DistrictWorks closely with the Director of Health Services, Athletic Director, and school nursing staff concerning restrictions of injured athletesUnderstands and empathizes with the needs and concerns of othersAble to performs other job-related duties as assigned HOURS: Approximately 20 hours per week (Hours will vary by day)EFFECTIVE: August 1, 2024
