In partnership with families and our community, the district’s mission is to promote confidence, inspire a passion for learning, and to prepare students to become responsible global citizens.REQUIREMENTS:Must have NYS Certification as School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS), School District Administrator (SAS), School District Leader (SDL), or School Building Leader (SBL)Must have NYS Certification as a School CounselorMust met NYSED Fingerprinting requirementsThe responsibilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: Works with administrators and guidance counselors to implement effective departmental programs Works with staff in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating new departmental programs and practices Recommends program plan for department to building principals and Assistant Superintendent for C&I Conducts studies and reviews information including test data with staff to identify student needs Supervises and evaluates all guidance faculty and clerical support staff Organizes and presents evening parent presentations, i.e., Parent University, College Information Nights, College Fairs, etc. Participates in the budget planning process Works collaboratively with the building administration to develop long-term plans with regard to curricular offerings and allocation of resources Coordinates guidance college travel schedules and conference attendance Establishes small group intervention programs with guidance staff Responsible for the development and management of the high school master schedule Assists in the recruitment and selection of department personnel Orients department personnel to policies and procedures Recommends staff assignments based on program needs and staff strengths and interests Assesses and recommends staff development needs in his/her area of responsibility Observes and evaluates staff performance in writing Works with building-level administrators to maintain articulation between levels and buildings Communicates department plans, practices and progress to staff, students, parents and the community Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent for C & I, updates the District Guidance Plan on at least an annual basis Symbolizes leadership through attendance at school-sponsored events related to the department Maintains membership and active participation in professional associations Establishes and maintains working relationships with governmental agencies, community organizations and businesses Attends meetings called by Assistant Superintendent for C & I and/or building principal Performs such additional duties as may be delegated by the immediate supervisor(s) or the Superintendent of Schools EFFECTIVE: August 1, 2022
