Duties: The Virtual Learning Specialist will be responsible for providing professional development related to online/distance learning needs, cultivating strong vendor partner relationships, and assisting in operations for our regional Virtual Learning Service (VLS). Candidates should possess a strong background in instructional design and development to effectively support the needs of online/distance learning across the region.Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Professional development for school district leaders, teachers, and staff to enhance their understanding of virtual learning practices and strategies.Identify, evaluate, and establish strong relationships with vendors and partners whose services complement our virtual learning solutions.Provide guidance and support to students and families participating in virtual/distance learning services.Collaborate with other team members to enhance the quality of educational materials.Offer support and troubleshooting assistance to school districts, educators, and students as they engage with virtual learning platforms.Job may require travel between school districts for training and support within a five-county radius (Madison, Oneida, Herkimer, Jefferson, and Lewis Counties). Qualifications: NYS Teacher Certification required. Knowledge, experience, and successful virtual/online learning implementation, instructional technology, and NYS Teaching & Learning Standards preferred.Location of Position: Mohawk Regional Information CenterTerm of Employment: 12 Month PositionSalary: Dependent on experienceStarting Date: December 2024Application Deadline: November 15, 2024
