The Minerva Central School District has an opening for a Special Education Teacher (full-time regular probationary track). Qualifications include:Possession of a valid NYS SWD Teaching Certificate, or proof of completing an accredited NYS program and be eligible for certification, Literary Certification B-6 encouragedWorking knowledge of the NYS Next Generation Learning StandardsStrong commitment to children and their progression through the school curriculumStrong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsExperience working with all levels of studentsDevelops and implements annual Individualized Education Program (IEP) plans for studentsEmploys various teaching techniques, methods, and principles of learning to enable students to meet their IEP goalsProvides research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student’s IEPAssesses student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniquesProvides direction, supervision and evaluation of educational paraprofessionals as directedAbility to monitor and evaluate the progress of all studentsWillingness to effectively collaborate with team members, faculty, and administrationAbility to work effectively with parents and have knowledge of available resourcesDesire and ability to advocate for students based on relevant dataApplicants must upload all relevant materials, including: cover letter, resume, college transcripts, teaching certificates, and letters of recommendations, to your OLAS account.
