The Mineola School District is seeking a highly motivated Speech and Language therapist to join our team. The successful candidate must possess:Outstanding communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with others in multiple settings.Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with all members of the school community.Assess the developmental level of students using a standardized assessment tool, as well as conduct on-going assessment.Plan and implement a program which meets the individual age-appropriate speech and language needs of each child and is based on the designated curriculum of the program. Writes IEP (for special needs children), progress notes and lesson plans. Direct classroom support staff in the assessment, planning and carrying out of the speech and language program.Confer with related service staff where appropriate to ensure the implementation of therapy goals (OT, PT and SPED) in the classroom.Develop and maintain positive interpersonal communications with staff and other professionals, maintain positive social-emotional climate which enhances the performance of staff and self-concept of children.Works with parents/guardians through informal communications.Share knowledge of children with other professionals in order to meet the child's educational needs at team meetings and School District CPSE/CSE meetings.
