POSITION: Maintenance Mechanic III – Electrical WorkerLOCATION: District Wide START: As soon as possibleSHIFT: Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pmSALARY: As per Operations ContractJOB DESCRIPTION: Experienced in laying out and installing new conduit, raceways, and wiring as well as troubleshooting/repairing/installing electrical motors, time clocks, light fixtures, receptacles, transformers, circuit breakers, breaker panels, relays, appliances, control boxes, switches, fuse boxes, air conditioners, and security systems cabling. Works on high and low voltage equipment.Plans and lays out projects which include estimating time and material costsDetermines type and amount of materials to be used and orders materials.Determines methods needed to complete workThorough knowledge of tools required to perform workQUALIFICATIONS: Thorough knowledge of the practices, materials, tools and methods of the assigned craft or specialty area; thorough knowledge of the pertinent rules, regulations and codes which are applicable to the assigned craft or specialty areaThorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the workSkill in the use and care of tools, materials and equipment of the tradeAbility to understand and work from general instructions, building specifications, blueprints or sketchesAbility to make time, labor and material estimates; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructionsAbility to supervise the work of others in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
