Milford Central School DistrictJob Title: School Counselors (Secondary)Location: Milford Central School District, Milford, NYJob Type: Full-Time (10-Month Position)Salary: Based on experience and aligned with the Milford Teacher’s ContractApplication Deadline: June 27, 2025Position OverviewThe Milford Central School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Secondary School Counselor. The ideal candidates will support the academic, social, and emotional development of students in grades 7-12.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide individual and group counseling to address academic, career, and personal/social development.Establish and maintain relationships with multiple outside agencies within the greater community to ensure open communication and additional support for students.Implement comprehensive school counseling programs that promote student achievement.Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student learning and development.Assist with the development of the Master ScheduleWilling to train and implement aspects of the Student Management System with regard to Transcripts, report cards, and student schedules.Assist students with course selection, college and career planning, and post-secondary transitions.Facilitate communication between the school and families.Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.Participate in professional development and stay current with best practices in school counseling.Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district policies and legal requirements.QualificationsValid New York State School Counselor Certification (Provisional or Permanent).Experience working with secondary-level students in an educational setting.Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with Naviance and other college and career readiness tools.Experience with diverse student populations and culturally responsive practices.Apply Today!To be considered for this position, please submit your resume and cover letter through olasjobs.org platform by June 27, 2025.
