NYScertification in Students w/Disabilities (1-6) is required for a probationary tenure trackSpecial Education Teacher position.Experience with the following is preferred:Supporting students with individual education plans within general educationclassrooms - modifying curriculum to provide access for students.Orton-Gillingham.Creating lessons using Universal Design for LearningProgress monitoringImbedding social emotional learning strategiesTeaming with staff to support students.Positive behavioral supportsQualifications and Skills:Hold New York State Teacher’s Certification.Have ability to relate to and work with children with disabilities.Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well withstudents, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
