Position – Elementary STEAM/Innovation Teacher (1): Full-time, tenure track position Salary & Benefits pursuant to MTA Agreement. Qualifications / Requirements:NYS Teacher Certification required Bachelor’s Degree (Mathematics and/or Science and/or STEAM preferred or related field of study.The Elementary Grades STEAM teacher is required to provide integrated cross-curricular instruction to elementary school students, with the aim of creating an interest in the subject amongst students and inspiring them to pursue careers and interests in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematicsAbility to design and deliver engaging lessons that align with state and national standards and integrate technology, science and engineering to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, creativity, and innovation in studentsBy combining the subjects of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, STEAM education aims to foster a comprehensive understanding of how these fields are interconnected and how they apply to real-world situationsThis may involve using technology, conducting experiments, building models, or engaging in artistic and creative projects with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics through Project-Based Learning methodsTo plan, organize, and present instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their cognitive, physical, and social/emotional development in the 21st centuryThis involves selecting appropriate learning resources, creating lesson plans, and integrating interdisciplinary activities that foster creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration; including civic engagement and literacy on environmental issuesAbility to monitor student performance and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learnersAbility to plan, coordinate and continuously improve instructionAbility to analyze situations, determine possible options, and make appropriate decisions based on the dataAbility to use a variety of technology and classroom toolsAbility to manage instructional time and student behaviorAbility to consult with parents, teachers, administrators and the community to enhance the learning of students through excellent oral and written communication skillsUnderstanding the developmental differences between K-2 and 3-5 learnersDemonstrates a vested interest in the success, future and Vision of Millbrook Central School DistrictAbility to differentiate instruction for struggling learners and gifted learners APPLICATION PROCEDUREPlease submit the following application materials: A completed OLAS application with a letter of interest, resume, copy of certification(s), and three (3) letters of recommendations attached to the OLAS application.
