Position: Teaching Assistant (Full-Time) Hours: Full-Time: 6 hours and 15 minutes each day(8:15 am to 3:15 pm with a 45-minute lunch break) Location: Merrick School District Salary: $ 29,979 Qualifications: Teaching Assistant Certification or General Education Teaching or Special Education Teaching certificate.Experience supporting students within an academic environment.Experience in implementing strategies to foster social skills development for students with autism and severe disabilities preferred. Responsibilities:Support students 1:1 and in groups throughout the school day.Strictly follow an individualized behavior plan.Strictly follow an individualized health plan.Supervision of lunch and/or recess.Provide instruction in social skills development under the supervision of a teacher.
