Job DescriptionPosition: Teaching Assistant (Full-Time) Hours: Full-Time: 6 hours and 15 minutes each day(8:15 am to 3:15 pm with a 45-minute lunch break) Location: Merrick School District Salary: $ 29,979 Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who are currently working in the Merrick School District. General Education Teaching or Special Education Teaching certificate or Teaching Assistant CertificationExperience supporting students within an academic environmentExperience in implementing strategies to foster social skills development for students with autism and severe disabilities preferred Responsibilities:Support students 1:1 and in groups throughout the school day.Strictly follow an individualized behavior plan.Strictly follow an individualized health plan.Supervision of lunch and/or recess.Provide instruction in social skills development under the supervision of a teacher. Facilitate interactions between peers within an academic and social setting.Provide academic, behavioral, and social interventions and support.
