UPK Classroom TeacherThe Colonie Youth Center Inc. seeks a caring and engaging teacher to work in a UPK classroom. This is a fun and rewarding position where you help inquisitive children master the next level of their development. The UPK teacher operates the classroom in compliance with the Menands Union Free School District guidelines and the policies of the Colonie Youth Center, Inc.The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of planning, organization, and implementation of daily activities for the UPK classroom. They will create weekly lesson plans for the classroom based on provided curriculum. Will develop individual plans for each child which focus on social, cognitive, and physical development. Also responsible for monitoring and assessing student progress and engaging parents throughout the school year. Will have supervisory oversight of the teacher aide.Requirements: Candidates must possess a valid NYS teacher certification in either Early education or Childhood Education B-2 or N-6Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30-3:30Salary: $44,000 - $48,0000 for a 10-month positionThis position is a full-time position with health and dental benefits, retirement plan and paid time-off.
