The Role : Sparking Curiosity in Middle School We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Grades 7 & 8 General Science Teacher to join our dedicated team for the 2026–2027 school year. In this role, you will focus strictly on the pivotal middle school years—helping 7th and 8th graders transition into deeper scientific thinking through hands-on discovery, labs, and inquiry-based learning. Key Responsibilities Engaging Middle School Instruction: Develop and implement standards-aligned lesson plans tailored to 7th and 8th-grade life, physical, and earth science concepts. Hands-On Lab Management: Facilitate safe, organized, and exciting laboratory experiences that bring the scientific method to life. Assessment & Growth: Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and foster scientific literacy. Positive Classroom Culture: Cultivate an inclusive, respectful, and energetic learning environment where middle schoolers feel safe to take academic risks. Collaboration: Work with junior-senior high colleagues to create a cohesive, scaffolded STEM experience across grade levels. Administrative Excellence: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and completed lab hours. Qualifications Certification: New York State Certification in General Science 7–12 OR Biology/General Science 7-12 OR Middle Childhood General Science 5–9. Expertise: Demonstrated ability to teach core scientific principles and manage a lab-based classroom safely. Classroom Management: Strong interpersonal skills and classroom management techniques tailored to the unique energy and developmental needs of 7th and 8th graders. Why Join Us?
