The Mayfield Central School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Teacher to lead an 8:1:1 classroom. This position serves students with significant academic and/or behavioral needs who require a highly structured and supportive learning environment. The teacher will provide specialized instruction, implement individualized education programs (IEPs), and collaborate with staff and families to support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development. Qualifications: Valid New York State Certification in Special Education (Students with Disabilities 7–12). Experience working with students with significant learning and/or behavioral needs preferred. Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and New York State special education regulations. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a self-contained or highly structured special education setting. Training or experience in behavior management strategies, restorative practices, or trauma-informed practices. Salary: Salary and benefits in accordance with the Mayfield Teacher Association collective bargaining agreement.
