The duties include but are not limited to:Assessing students’ abilities and building individual lesson plans tailored to their specific needs.Differentiating existing curriculum on basic subjects to meet each student’s learning requirements.Keeping track of and reflecting on students’ progress.Monitoring children’s behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed.Managing classroom crises and resolving conflict.Implementing behavior intervention plans.Working with students who have significant learning and language disabilities. Preparing students for transition to the next grade.Informing parents/guardians about their children’s performance.Attending committee meetings and participating in the development of educational plans. Qualifications: New York State Dual Certification: Elementary and Students with Disabilities, Birth to Grade 2 and Grades 1-6. Additional certification as a Licensed Behavioral Analyst is preferred. Reading certification and Wilson experience is a plus.
