VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT SEARCH EXTENDED: PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT REAPPLYSECONDARY SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL: GRADES 7 -12Effective July 1, 202412-Month Administrative PositionLOCATION: Manhasset Secondary School, Grades 7-12REPORTS TO: Secondary School Principal MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Valid NYS School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) Certification.Minimum of five (5) years of highly effective experience as a Secondary School Teacher in a secondary school tenure area and possession of valid NYS teaching certification in that area required.Minimum of five (5) years of distinguished experience in a school building leadership position preferred.Experience creating a schoolwide master schedule preferred.Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.Demonstrated knowledge of secondary school curriculum, instruction & assessment.Proven ability to work collaboratively with parents, and to motivate students and staff to achieve excellence. ILLUSTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities to support the Principal’s building leadership include, but are not limited to, the following:Providing supervision for identified departments and programs.Completing performance observations of building and department personnel.Participating in recruitment, selection, scheduling, and ongoing supervision of staff assigned to various programs.Assisting with the development of the annual secondary school program budgets and the monitoring of those budgets throughout the school year.Providing student supervision and holding students accountable for their responsibilities.Assisting with the scheduling of students for required courses and courses of choice. Supporting compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations governing the education of secondary school students.Assisting with the annual evaluations of assigned program personnel, including teachers, other certificated staff members, and support staff personnel; developing plans for performance improvement, as needed.Communicating and collaborating with the Principal and other administrators regarding students, programs, and personnel;10.
