Notice of Anticipated VacancySeptember 22, 2023 Assistant Principal Grades 9-12Manhasset Secondary School This probationary position is available immediately.The Manhasset Secondary School is a nationally recognized Blue-Ribbon School of Excellence ranked among the best schools in the country. We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Principal to join our staff. The successful candidate will support the principal of Manhasset Secondary School by providing high quality collaborative leadership through the different facets of school leadership outlined below. This position reports to the Secondary School Principal and is provided a four-year probationary appointment. This position is a part of the Manhasset Administrators and Supervisors Association. This position includes the duties and responsibilities below and other functions as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and/or his/her designee. Qualifications: A Master’s Degree (minimum); a demonstrated record of successful secondary teaching experience; and appropriate NYS Building level administrative certification required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Relate well with secondary school students and demonstrate a commitment to their social-emotional, physical, and academic growth. Communicate and build strong relationships with all members of the school community. Assist in managing all facets of the daily operations of a school building. Coordinate student discipline of students in grades 9-12. Administer all functions of the Secondary School Attendance Office. Manage all facets of the daily operations of a building including supervision of school security staff, create duty assignments for teachers, etc. Attend and assist in the supervision of select Co-Curricular Events. Partner with central administration, District Directors and Coordinators to align initiatives and assist with the supervision of instruction.
