RESPONSIBILITIES:Collaboration and communication with administration and staff on behalf of students success Support students academic, emotional and behavioral needs as indicated by their IEPsProvide the teacher with information about students that will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning and behavioral experiencesKnowledge of de-escalation and self-management strategies and implementation and the willingness to obtain and employ Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training.Data collection and implementation of behavior plans.Assist with related instructional work as requiredMaintain instructional materials and/or manual and electronic files/records (e.g. lessons, attendance, pencils, paper, teaching supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of items, providing written reports, or meeting mandated requirementsPerforms general tasks for the purpose of helping the teacher get instructional materials readyTrack student independence with vocational tasks using teacher designed data sheetsSupport students in the school building and out in the community at vocational job sitesProvide assistance to students in a work setting as they learn new skills at their job sites Travel by walking or public bus to and from school with students to their outside job placementsModel professionalism for students to learn appropriate behaviors in a work settingOther duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must hold a NYS Teaching Assistant Certification.
