LOCATION: Central School RESPONSIBILITIES: Promote a classroom environment that is safe, welcoming, and affirming for all studentsProvide direct instruction and in-the-moment coaching in academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and self-regulation skills. Effectively use tools and systems to progress monitor all aspects of the students’ learning. Facilitate positive behavior reinforcement and classroom management systems.Work collaboratively with teachers, related services providers, support staff, and parents on behalf of student success. Differentiate lesson plans within the class environment, utilizing relevant technology and instructional materials. Participate in CPSE evaluations and assessments. IEP Development, including assessment, goals, modifications, and accommodationsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience in a Preschool or primary classroom setting.Strong understanding of positive behavior reinforcement systems and task analysisKnowledge of high-leverage special education practicesExperience with IEP development - writing goals, progress monitoring, and identification of modifications/accommodationsStrong communication skills In-depth knowledge of social-emotional learning approaches and experience in implementing SEL to cultivate a classroom that is affirming and welcomingPossession of an appropriate New York State Teacher Certification REQUIREMENTS: NYS Special Education Certification for Birth - Grade 2 COMPENSATION: In accordance with the Agreement between the Board of Education and the Mamaroneck Teachers’ Association ($60,275 - $151,651) REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Director of Special Education
