LOCATION: Mamaroneck High School Outstanding candidates are sought for the position of Director of Special Education Pre-K-12. Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent for Student Support Services, the Director will provide support for all aspects of a comprehensive Pre-K through Grade 12 program for students with disabilities. Knowledge of New York State Part 200 Regulations, 504 Regulations, IDEA, and IEP mandates required. Strong understanding of how to support curriculum modifications and scaffolds based on student need is also required. Minimum requirements/responsibilities include:Oversees elementary and secondary special education programs.Assists in the supervision of Department Chairpersons for Special Education, Coordinators for Student Support Services, and Therapists. Directs the identification, diagnosis, planning, programming, placement and assessment of students with disabilities.Chairs Initial CSE meetings and monitors IEP mandated requirements, and coordinates District Annual Review CSE schedule.Assists school administrators with the supervision and evaluation of special education teachers and therapists.Assists with keeping accurate enrollment of students requiring special education services within the district, non-public, and out of district, and tuition students from other communities.Assists in the development and monitoring of the budget for the Office of Student Support Services, and grants (i.e. Pre-K; IDEA).Supports in the monitoring of IDEA grant expenditures, STAC reports and NY State Reporting.Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Asst Superintendent for Student Support Services.Valid New York State School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS)/ School District Administrator (SDA) certification required.REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Student Support Services Ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply.
