Position: Special Education Teacher – Long-Term Substitute/Leave Replacement (Full Year) Location: Hommocks Middle School Supervisor: Building Principal and Director of Special Education Requirements: NYS Special Education SWD Certification Grades 1-6 and/or Grade 7-12 Responsibilities/Skillset:Knowledge of high leverage middle school special education practicesAbility to plan for and develop differentiated learning plans within highly structured learning environments IEP Development including assessment, goals, modifications, and accommodationsTools and systems to progress monitor Experience in Integrated Co-teaching and/or Resource Room assignmentsKnowledge of stages of adolescent developmentUnderstanding of positive behavior reinforcement systems and class managementStrong communication and collaboration skills Compensation: In accordance with the Agreement between the Board of Education and the Mamaroneck Teachers’ Association.
