The Mahopac Central School District is seeking to fill a probationary Assistant Director for Special Education position beginning with the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate will:Assist with all aspects of Special Education administrationConduct Special Education trainings and meetings to keep building and district administration up to date regarding pertinent information related to Special EducationAssist in the supervision of Special Education out-of-district student placementsSupervise 504 meetings (K-12)Supervise related service providers (K-12)Experience in the supervision of alternate assessment special class programs (K-12)Assist in supervision of special education, including observations and evaluations of staffAssist with training and professional development for special education staff including Teaching Assistants and Teacher AidesExperience in the supervision of the education evaluation processHave significant experience chairing CSE and 504 meetingsExperience as a school psychologist or speech language pathologist preferredHave excellent verbal and written communication skills including computer literacyHave district level administrative experience as a special education administratorHave knowledge and experience with Commissioner Regulations Part 200 Hold NYS certification - SDA or SDLThe Mahopac Central School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
