Typical Work Activities: (Illustrative only; does not include all possible duties) Types, formats, and prepares classroom materials, letters, forms, reports, instructional documents, and prints instructional posters and related materials as requested by teachers; May assist the school nurse in rendering basic first aid treatment and responding to student health needs under the direction of the school nurse or direct supervisor(s); Enters and updates information in databases, spreadsheets, and school information systems as directed; Prepares and assembles instructional packets, worksheets, and other educational materials; Answers telephones, takes messages, and relays information to appropriate staff; Assists with mail distribution and routine office correspondence; Maintains confidentiality of student and staff records; Assists teachers with organizing classroom supplies, materials, and clerical workflows; Provides student supervision as assigned, including the main office, hallways, restrooms, and the cafeteria, as well as other non-instructional duties. Assists with clerical preparation and organization of state assessment and Regents examination materials for teachers in accordance with district procedures and testing security guidelines. Performs routine clerical tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, and organizing records;Full Performance Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Personal Characteristics:Good general intelligence; ability to establish good relationships with children and others; familiarity with classroom routine; good background or knowledge in specific field where specialized duties are involved; above-average clerical aptitude; resourcefulness in conducting above-described activities indirectly related to teaching process; ability to maintain discipline; tact; courtesy; good judgment; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.Minimum Qualifications:Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.Calendar:10-month (180 days), plus 20 days required to be worked in the month of August at the discretion of the Building Principal and/or the Data & Curriculum CoordinatorAnnual Salary:$24,768.00, plus an additional $2,752 for summer work
