School District Business Official Position: Full-Time, 12-Month Administrator Reports To: Assistant Superintendent for Business Administration The Liverpool Central School District is seeking a knowledgeable, collaborative, and detail-oriented School District Business Official to join its Business Office leadership team. Working under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Business Administration, the successful candidate will assist in the administration of the District's business and financial operations. Upon appointment by the Board of Education, the successful candidate will serve as the District's Purchasing Agent and will oversee the District's purchasing and procurement program in accordance with New York State Education Law, General Municipal Law, Board of Education policies, and District procedures. Primary Responsibilities Serve as the District's Purchasing Agent upon appointment by the Board of Education. Administer the District's purchasing and procurement program. Coordinate competitive bidding, requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotations (RFQs), cooperative purchasing, and contract administration. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and Board policies governing procurement. Assist in the development, administration, and monitoring of the District's annual budget. Analyze expenditures and purchasing activities and recommend cost-effective purchasing strategies. Collaborate with district administrators to procure goods and services that support instructional and operational needs. Assist with financial reporting, budget analysis, and business office operations. Coordinate with external auditors and maintain appropriate internal controls. Prepare reports and recommendations for the Assistant Superintendent for Business Administration, Superintendent, and Board of Education. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Candidates must meet the qualifications established for the applicable Civil Service title and/or possess qualifications required by the New York State Education Department for a School District Business Official, as applicable. Experience in school finance, municipal finance, purchasing, accounting, business administration, or public administration is preferred.
