Qualifications:New York State Certification in School District Business Leader (SDBL) or School Business Administration (SBA)Experience:Minimum of five (5) years administrative experience at the central office/district level or the equivalent.Reports to:Superintendent and Deputy SuperintendentDescription:The Assistant Superintendent for School Business Administration will assist the Superintendent of Schools and other assistant superintendents in the administration of several specific areas of school program management. He/she is directly responsible to the Superintendent of Schools and has the following administrative duties.Responsibilities:SupervisionDirect supervision and management of all non-instructional operations of the Business Office and staff including all accountants and account clerks (treasurer, payroll, benefits, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, excess cost aid, billing, and cash receipts).Confidential & Managerial administrative oversight over all School Business Administration.Financial ManagementOversight and controls of all district fiscal and financial affairs, including budget development, capital projects, audits, asset management, and fiduciary oversight over extraclassroom activity funds.Administrative responsibility for all required State and Federal aid and grant reporting.Responsibility for financial analysis associated with collective bargaining/contract negotiations.Participation as a District representation at meetings of the OCM BOCES Worker’s Compensation Consortium.Act as the purchasing officer for the school district in the absence of the School Purchasing Agent.Management of the District’s 403b Employer Matching Contribution Program.District Level AdministrationServe as a primary liaison between the business office and all other district administrators.Serve as the Labor-Management Relations facilitator for administrative services, including the Transportation Department and Operations and Maintenance.Participation on a variety of district-wide committees as directed by the Superintendent, such as Audit Committee, facilities use, cell phone and PDA use, Safety Committee, etc.Maintain wide professional relationships including area school officials, SED officials, BOCES, political resources, and local organizations and businesses.Other functions identified in the internal document entitled “Essential Job Functions Chart”Terms of Employment:Twelve (12) months, Non-Affiliated Administrative Employee
