Food Service Helper 1 Liverpool Central School District Schedule: 3.5 hours per day Employment: 10 Month School-year position Position Description The Liverpool Central School District is seeking a qualified candidate for a Food Service Helper 1 position. Under general supervision, a Food Service Helper 1 performs routine work assisting with the preparation and serving of food and the cleaning and maintenance of food service areas and equipment. Typical duties include: Assisting with the preparation of food and beverages for service. Performing routine food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, measuring, and portioning food. Assisting with the serving and distribution of meals to students and staff. Setting up and cleaning dining and food preparation areas. Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and serving areas. Washing dishes, trays, pots, pans, and other food service equipment. Following established food safety, sanitation, and health procedures. Storing food and supplies properly and maintaining orderly storage areas. Assisting with receiving, moving, and putting away food and supplies as directed. Maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment. Performing other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Candidates must meet the applicable Onondaga County Civil Service requirements for the Food Service Helper 1 title. The successful candidate must be able to perform routine food preparation and cleaning duties, follow oral and written instructions, work cooperatively with others, and maintain appropriate food safety and sanitation standards in a school food service environment.
