Cook 1 Liverpool Central School District Schedule: 7 hours per day Employment: 10 Month School-year position Position Description The Liverpool Central School District is seeking a qualified candidate for a Cook 1 position. Under the general supervision of a supervisor, the Cook 1 is responsible for preparing and cooking food in accordance with established menus, recipes, and food-service procedures. Typical duties include: Reviewing menus and recipes to determine food requirements and quantities needed for meal preparation. Preparing and cooking a variety of foods using appropriate cooking techniques and equipment. Observing and testing foods during the cooking process to ensure proper quality, consistency, and readiness. Following established recipes, menus, portion requirements, and food-service standards. Maintaining appropriate food preparation, sanitation, and safety practices. Completing daily production records and other required food-service records. Assisting with the serving of meals as needed. Supervising and assisting with the cleaning of kitchen areas, equipment, utensils, and work surfaces. Following applicable health, sanitation, and food-safety requirements. Performing other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications Candidates must meet the applicable Onondaga County Civil Service requirements for the Cook 1 title. The position requires the ability to perform food preparation and cooking duties efficiently and safely, follow menus and recipes, maintain required records, and work cooperatively in a school food-service environment.
