Long-Term Substitute Reading Teacher – K–2 Liverpool Central School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Long-Term Substitute Reading Teacher to support students in a K–2 elementary school for the 2026–2027 school year. Job Description The successful candidate will provide reading instruction and intervention to students in kindergarten through second grade. Responsibilities include planning and delivering evidence-based literacy instruction, assessing student reading skills, monitoring progress, providing targeted support to students, and collaborating with classroom teachers, interventionists, and other school staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of early literacy development and a passion for helping young learners develop foundational reading skills. The candidate should demonstrate strong instructional, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills and be committed to creating a positive and engaging learning environment. Qualifications Appropriate New York State teaching certification required. Certification or experience in literacy/reading instruction preferred. Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in grades K–2, preferred. Strong understanding of foundational literacy and early reading development. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Commitment to supporting the academic and individual needs of all students.
