This is for continuous recruitment of teacher aides, which are part time, 10-month positions. Work hours and building location to be determined at the time of hire. No minimum qualifications required.REQUIRED: NYSED fingerprint clearanceREPORTS TO: Building PrincipalBe able to relate to children and adults. Ability to take directives from adults and follow directions well. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and colleagues. Ability to speak clearly. Be responsible and confidential. RESPONSIBILITIES:Follows directions given by principal.Communicates with the teacher regarding student progress according to procedures established by the teacher.Assists in providing adult supervision of individual or small groups during non-instructional activities.Assists with the supervision of students in school-related activities outside the classroom.Assists in the preparation of instructional materials and technology.Assists in clerical tasks related to instructional tasks.Assists in preparing the learning environment; ex. setting up learning centers.Maintains confidentiality about students, their families, and other employees outside the school.Performs other position-related duties assigned by the building principal.Attends building and district meetings/workshops as required by the building principal.
